Local Workforce Training Programs

UTPB is a member of The University of Texas System, providing bachelor and master degrees. 听A recent collaboration with UT San Antonio allows UTPB to now offer a doctoral degree as well as leadership training and research. UTPB's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, with or without a concentration in nuclear engineering, has become the sixth largest major on campus. The 糖心Vlog传媒 Campus located at the CEED building will be offering a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Petroleum Engineering beginning the Fall of 2011. 听

糖心Vlog传媒 College is a level-two, comprehensive community college that offers more than 50 fields of study, including programs in nursing, paralegal studies, aviation maintenance technology, oil and gas technology. MC offers associate degrees, certificates, and even a baccalaureate degree. More than 7,000 credit students are enrolled at 糖心Vlog传媒 College.

The 糖心Vlog传媒 assisted with the funding for equipment for 糖心Vlog传媒 College's Wind Energy Training curriculum to assist in developing and improving the workforce for existing industries as well as new wind industry companies.

糖心Vlog传媒 College's AMT Program qualifies students at graduation with skills to work on aircraft components and systems including airgrame, piston engines, turbine engines, hydraulic systems, propellers, rigging, awarning sytems, and environmental systems. The pass rate of this the AMT program at MC is currently at 100%.听

ATC is a unique educational partnership (with 糖心Vlog传媒 College, the 糖心Vlog传媒 Independent School District, and several community partners) designed to deliver technical workforce education programs. The facility also enables 糖心Vlog传媒-area residents to further enhance their technical skills through recognized certifications and other continuing education opportunities.听The ATC offers instruction in a number of areas, including automotive, computer, building trades, machinist, and customized business demand technologies.

The Development Center is a state-of-the-art educational facility designed specifically for the oil and gas industry, and is one of seven mid-career training centers worldwide recognized by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

CEED/Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

The Center for Energy and Economic Diversification, located on the campus of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, offers courses, research, and other resources to the oil and gas industry and also works on helping transition the region's oil-dominated economy to a more diversified economy. The Petroleum Industry Alliance, U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, and , which provides business assistance for small businesses, are all housed at CEED.

In April 2017, MDC approved funding that will allow UTPB's Center for Energy and Economic Diversification (CEED) to be transformed into a makerspace/incubator to provide a place where people with shared interests can gather to network, share knowledge and ideas, and equipment.

TTU's Health Sciences Center offers programs in healthcare fields that include nursing, family medicine, OB-GYN, and internal medicine and pediatrics. The TTUHSC also offers a Master's Degree program in physical therapy and a baccalaureate degree in occupational therapy.
